A romantic getaway/holiday rental a lovely houseboat studio for maximum 2 people situated in one of the most beautiful canals and in the most popular area in Amsterdam, the favorite Jordaan.

Houseboat Bluewater is a lovely houseboat situated on one of the most beautiful canals in Amsterdam. The area is favored by many locals because of it’s authenticity and atmosphere. It is the lovely Jordaan area with many quaint shops, nice restaurants and café's. 

The studio is part of a whole houseboat, totally private from the other part of the houseboat. It has beautiful large sliding windows which gives you the most amazing view across the canal at the 400 year old warehouses with their beautiful colorful shutters.

The studio has a very comfortable double bed with a ceiling fan for the warmer nights. It also has central heating. A tv with Netflix. It has a small ‘kitchenette’ with fridge, microwave, coffeemachine teakettle but WITHOUT a sink. 
There is a small seating area in front of the large window.

A private bathroom with double vanity and glass shower stall and a separate private toilet. There is a ledge outside the sliding window with a small bench to sit and watch the pleasure boats go by or feed the swans and ducks.

For your welcome there will be a bottle of wine waiting for you in the fridge. Enjoy your stay!

How to get there

Amsterdam Airport is close to the city, it will take 20 minutes by taxi. The train will run 4x an hour and takes you 15 minutes and walking from the station about 10/15 minutes to the houseboat.

About the area

The area is ‘the Jordaan’. There is a twice weekly market/farmers market just opposite and around the corner of the houseboat. Many restaurants, cafes, outdoor terraces and shops around. Many sights close by. Supermarket and grocery stores very close. The famous Haarlemmerdijk is just 200 meters away. It is a very happy, fun loving, bustling area and yet not as busy as other parts of Amsterdam. Sometimes the canal looks and feels like a 18th century fishing village.

    Beautiful boat, perfect location

    I loved my stay on Danielle's boat! It is the absolute PERFECT location in Amsterdam, on a lovely canal, close to so many great shopping areas, Westerpark, and the center of the city. The houseboat has everything 1 or 2 people will need for a trip, including a kitchenette with fridge, microwave, hot place, some cooking equipment, coffee machine, cleaning supplies, and more. The bed was very comfy. I loved opening the sliding door completely and sitting right by the canal, or you can walk on the small porch, sit on the bench, or sit with your feet in the water and watch the boats go by. Everything I needed was provided, I can't wait to come back!

    Amazing!!

    We had the most amazing stay in Danielle's houseboat, everything was perfect from when we arrived until we left! Anything you could need for your stay was provided. The houseboat is located in a lovely quiet residential area which meant lovely local restaurants. If visiting Amsterdam again I will definitely try and stay here again too. It is the real Amsterdam experience! Having boats pass your window as well as the swans and ducks was just so surreal. Could have spent my 3 days just looking out the river on to the canal. Thanks so much again Danielle!

    Cozy place, great location

    We loved staying in the Blue Water houseboat. Since Amsterdam is a very walkable city, we were able to walk to the train station, museum district, and the river cruise docks. The houseboat is tucked away in a quiet little corner near restaurants and shops.

    The houseboat had the little touches to make the stay comfy: toaster, microwave, fridge, plates, and utensils. Although the houseboat is located next to the street, as all of them are, it was surprisingly quiet. In the mornings, it was nice to watch the tour boats heading out for a day on the water. In the evenings, they quietly headed home.

    The host was very quick to reply to questions and emails. It was an easy check-in and check-out. The hours were very reasonable.
